This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design and six (6) months experience as a Mechanical Drafter or Mechanical Engineer in the following competencies:

    • Knowledge of Advanced Engineering Analysis, Analysis of Plates and Shells, Mechanics of Electronic Packaging, Predictive Modeling I, and Mechanics of Composite Materials.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks or Solid Edge or ProgeCAD, ability to design, model, and simulate mechanical components and systems using this software. Certified in ProjeCAD and Solid Edge or SolidWorks, competent in computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software.
    • Ability to conduct engineering analysis, such as finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD), to evaluate the performance and behavior of mechanical systems.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, including capacity to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions to complex engineering problems.
    • Experience in working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, demonstrating ability to communicate effectively and contribute to group projects.
    • Ability to create clear and concise engineering reports, design documents, and technical specifications.

Roles & Responsibilities

Showa Best Glove Inc. seeks an Engineering Manager in Fayette, AL. Job duties include:

  • Monitor the engineering, design, manufacturing, per requirements, necessary for turn key operation on projects.
  • Provide engineering assistance for plant services as required.
  • Will provide all assistance to vendors so they will understand our direction, check for best quality, price and delivery of such items.
  • Assist the maintenance department and assign priorities to specific maintenance projects.
  • To assist in any production problems in all day-to-day routine manufacturing.
  • Perform duties assigned by the plant manager and work on any special projects.
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures and estimate costs for engineering projects.
  • Write performance requirements for engineering projects.
  • To assist with automation initiatives across all processes and factories.
  • To continually be aware of present state of art engineering and production via web sites, trade journals, seminars, and technical shows.
  • To make recommendations regarding the procurement of new equipment and design software.
  • Will obey all company rules and regulations.
  • To assist R&D, Q&A, and production laboratories on any engineering requirements.
  • To continually search for cost savings opportunities in all manufacturing areas.
